In 1971 a local company struggled with the automation of its machines. Enrico Canziani took on the challenge and set to work on an innovative prototype: : a static driver for brake/clutch management manually realized with a rudimentary printed circuit board with nail polish and acid etching. Two germanium transistors were applied on the circuit. The prototype was rudimentary and perfectible, but it turned out to be the solution to the problem.
It started our story.

In the second half of the 70s, when Elca was established (Elettronica Cassanese), the first customers had become world leaders. We began to support them with state-of-the-art machines, while competitors were still relying on mechanical systems. We proposed new solutions for mass production and we introduced the electronic machine management through a microprocessor. An innovation that at the 1978 ITMA fair in Hannover, leaved everyone speechless and opened the way to the next decade with new important customers, new collaborators, the production of proprietary systems and the birth of SAPRA Elettronica.

The '80s and '90s represented a necessary period of expansion and consolidation, during which Sapra developped and produced proprietary systems and acquired new, important customers. 

In the mid-2000s came the turning point. To the exponential growth of the offer and to the new generations of customers present on the international market, Sapra responds by undertaking a radical phase of transformation. We study and propose new solutions, building the best foundations to face new scenarios.

Sapra gets in touch with incubators, accelerators and innovative startups. Hence, the idea of using the experience and collaborations and become a place of fast and effective access to realize a business project. Our headquarter houses the LAB, where small, medium and large companies can test their idea of innovation and the CUBE, interlocutor and meeting point between investors and startups.

With the beginning of the new millennium, the world has changed radically, but thanks to our know-how we stand ready and we support the necessary evolutions.

We come to the present with a precise idea of the future: from integrated systems to robotics, up to a new strategic vision. Born as a product supplier, we become a solid technology partner. We create innovation and accept the challenges of growing industries. We invest in acquisitions (NTE New Test Engineering Sa) and create strategic partnerships, strengthening our international presence with the establishment of ElectronAlliance, a union aimed at enhancing the skills of the electronic supply chain.
